This will give you a good overview of what you can reasonably expect to get for your dollar and provide much information about the variables with each model, plus provide you with an average kilometre figure for that model.

The next step is to search the internet for blogs on the vehicle you have chosen. There is something written and posted about every vehicle ever made (well almost) and if it is a popular model there will be whole sites dedicated to them, especially the classics. In turn if your chosen model has particular quirks or faults, there will be several pages of conversation and discussion on the various issues that model may have, that will provide you with much valuable information.
Once you have gathered some info on your chosen vehicle you will start to notice them more often in your travels, a phenomenon that constantly surprises me. Whenever convenient, stop and chat with the owner and find out first-hand how they feel about the vehicle. Being armed with some knowledge of the vehicle will enable you to fire a few questions at him (her) and again provide you, and possibly them, with much useful information.
